Vodafone Portugal seeks Ericsson's IMS solutions
The much awaited speculation has finally come down with Ericsson’s IMS being the final choice for Vodafone Portugal for providing Core IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services to deliver integrated fixed and mobile convergent services. Ericsson's Core IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) would be enabled to build and develop Vodafone Portugal next-generation offering. IMS-based services facilitate communication through different media viz voice, text, pictures, video etc, or sometimes, a combination of them adapted to each individual's preference. Ericsson's IMS solution assists a common service environment, thereby allowing Vodafone Portugal to execute flexible and scalable advanced services. |

Ericsson IMS offers greater user experience and is all poised to contour the future of mobile and broadband internet communications through its continuous technology leadership. This contract could well be a key and crucial stepping stone in enabling Vodafone Portugal to launch a new-fangled generation of fixed and mobile convergent services, in combination with voice and Internet services. IMS signifies the fruition of converged mobile and fixed control networks to all-IP, enabling in significantly bringing down cost issues by providing greater flexibility to assist broadband services.
